Pleiades M45

Yesterday I tried to take a photo of M45 Pleiades. It was pretty freezing outside, almost – 16 degrees C. So I had to be quick, the photo was taken with just single camera, without additional lens.

Actually Pleiades looked like this 444 years ago. Why? Because the light from the stars in this cluster was traveling 444 years until it has reached us. So when looking at this photo, we are looking back to the year 1572. Isn’t it interesting? This star cluster contains more than 1000 stars. But I have used just digital compact camera and it was already on its limits. So only some of the stars are visible.

M 45 Pleiades.
